Authorities identified 29-year-old Joshua Jahn as the suspect in a deadly shooting near a Dallas ICE facility.
Shots were fired at a transport van, killing one detainee and injuring two others. No ICE officers
were harmed, but shell casings carried anti-ICE messages, signaling a direct attack on federal authority.
Investigators are reviewing Joshua’s background. He briefly attended the University of Texas at Dallas
and was remembered as quiet, with a passion for video games rather than politics. Online accounts showed
thousands of gaming hours. His family expressed shock: his mother, Sharon, was too emotional to comment,
while his brother Noah described him as “non-political” and “unique.” Joshua had been unemployed and planning
to move to his parents’ property in Oklahoma. Records show only a minor marijuana charge in 2016, resolved with probation and a fine.
National leaders condemned the attack. President Donald Trump called it “despicable,” while Homeland Security Secretary Kristi
Noem urged prayers for victims and stressed rising risks to ICE officers. Witness Denise Robleto, waiting in her car for
her mother inside the facility, described the scene as “terrifying.” Authorities have since searched vehicles
and properties tied to Joshua as the Dallas community reels from a tragedy that turned an ordinary morning into grief.
