New Poll Reveals Public Opinion on the Presidency — Latest Insights and Trends

A new national survey provides updated insight into how Americans view former President Donald Trump and the country’s overall direction. While Trump continues to speak confidently about progress and leadership, the findings reveal mixed public sentiment as many weigh personal experiences against national goals. Rising costs, global tensions, and political debates have shaped how people feel about the state of the nation.

According to the latest CNN/SSRS poll of 1,245 adults, Trump’s approval rating stands at 37%, down from 47% earlier in the year. About 63% expressed disapproval, one of the lowest levels during his time in office. The broader national mood mirrors this division: 68% of Americans believe the country is doing “pretty” or “very badly,” while only 32% say things are going well.

Economic concerns remain central for many respondents. Nearly half (47%) cited inflation, higher prices, and financial strain as their top worries. Another 26% pointed to issues surrounding democracy and political stability, while 10% highlighted immigration as their primary concern. A majority said they remain uneasy about both the economy and international relations, underscoring widespread uncertainty about national direction.

The poll also found that 61% of participants believe presidential powers have been used “too far,” reflecting continued debate about executive authority. As the midterm elections approach, 41% of voters say their ballots will express opposition to Trump’s leadership, while 21% intend to show support. Trump has dismissed the poll’s results, saying his base remains strong. Overall, the findings portray a nation divided — one carefully evaluating its priorities and preparing for another pivotal political season.
