ST. JAMES, NY — Detectives have determined that missing Saint James teen Thomas Medlin, 15, was last seen on the pedestrian walkway of the Manhattan Bridge on the evening of Friday, Jan. 9, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.
Police said extensive video canvassing and a review of digital evidence showed Medlin on the bridge at approximately 7:06 p.m. The last activity on his cellphone occurred at approximately 7:09 p.m., authorities said. A nearby surveillance camera then captured a splash in the water at approximately 7:10 p.m., police said.

Detectives said Medlin was never seen leaving the bridge via any pedestrian exits.
Under the issuance of subpoenas and search warrants, police conducted forensic examinations of electronic devices associated with Medlin, as well as reviews of multiple social media and online gaming profiles. Investigators determined that none of those platforms are connected to his disappearance, police said.
Authorities said there is no indication of criminal activity in the case. Detectives have remained in continuous communication with Medlin’s family and are continuing to work with law enforcement partners in an effort to bring closure, police said.
The investigation remains ongoing.

Police previously said Medlin left the Stony Brook School on Friday, Jan. 9, at around 3:30 p.m. and ran to the Stony Brook Train Station. He was later seen at Grand Central Terminal at around 5:30 p.m.
Medlin is described as white, approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall, and weighing about 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black jacket with red stripes, dark sweatpants with white stripes, a black backpack, and glasses.
